Creator Growth Path
Suno offers a tiered system designed to support creators at every stage of their musical journey, from beginners to advanced users. Understanding the different plans, credit systems, and model capabilities is key to maximizing your creative potential.
Plan Types and Credit Systems
Suno provides three distinct plan options: Basic, Pro, and Premier. Each plan offers a different level of access to credits, which are used to generate music.
- Basic: This free tier provides 50 credits daily, allowing users to create approximately 10 songs per day. It's an excellent starting point for exploring the platform.
- Pro: This paid subscription plan grants 2,500 credits each month. It is designed for creators who want to generate more music and explore the platform's capabilities more deeply.
- Premier: The highest tier, this plan offers 10,000 credits monthly. It is ideal for prolific creators and those who require a large volume of content.
Both Pro and Premier subscribers have the option to purchase additional credits beyond their monthly allotment. This flexibility allows users to scale their creative output as needed. Furthermore, if Pro and Premier users exhaust their monthly credits, they receive up to 50 credits daily.
Maximizing Your Creative Potential
The platform offers different AI models, each with unique strengths and weaknesses. Understanding these models will help you make the most of your credits and achieve the desired results.
- V2: This model is best for experimental and niche genres. It generates shorter clips (up to 1:20 minutes, extendable by 40 seconds) and is ideal for unique sound experiments, DJ samples, and ironic styles. However, it has a comparatively harsher sound quality.
- V3: This model is versatile and excels in detailed genre mashups. It generates clips up to 2:00 minutes, extendable by 60 seconds, and offers improved audio quality and emotive voices. V3 is suitable for complex genre blends but may layer voices or double the lead singer.
- V3.5: This model is designed for mainstream and radio-ready genres. It generates longer clips (up to 4:00 minutes, extendable by 2:00 minutes) and offers enhanced composition and singing capabilities. V3.5 is more responsive to metatags and produces polished, professional-sounding tracks.
A recommended workflow is to start with V3 for detailed style prompts and initial creative direction and then switch to V3.5 for refining lyrics, improving vocal performance, and extending the song for a polished, professional finish.
Genre-Specific Performance
Suno excels in certain genres while struggling with others. Understanding these strengths and weaknesses can help you tailor your prompts for better results.
Strengths:
- Trap Music: Suno consistently produces high-quality trap music.
- Lofi Music: Various lofi subgenres like soul, R&B, and chill hop are well-supported.
- Jazz and Blues: Suno performs well with 1920s-1950s jazz and blues, especially with female vocals.
- Country and Indie: The platform effectively generates country and indie music with a believable sound.
Weaknesses:
- Early Post-Punk and Jangly Guitar: Replicating the early post-punk sound, particularly with jangly guitar elements, is challenging.
- Boyband Music: Generating accurate intro noises, such as private jet arrivals, for boyband music is difficult.
- Dubstep and EDM: While basic DnB and Latin pop are manageable, complex EDM genres with heavy sound design are not well-supported.
- Mandarin Music: The quality of Mandarin songs is often poor due to insufficient training data.
- Metal Subgenres: Extreme metal genres like doom and black metal are challenging for the AI to generate accurately.
To improve results, especially for difficult genres, modify your prompts and repeat the genre name multiple times to emphasize it. Ensure that the lyrics and music you input are original to avoid issues with sampling and copyright. If you encounter incorrect sampling detections, dispute them.
